 Understanding Key Terms

POSTMODERNITY - When we talk about the evolution of mass media, postmodernity would be used as a term describing the present day, or contemporary mass media. It denotes the epoch of information-based services production that started in 1960's.

CONVERGENCE - The tendency of different media to share a joint platform, making it easier for us to access them by using only our phones or our laptops.

GLOBALIZATION - In regards to the subject, the mass media, globalization represents a worldwide spread of information while breaking international boundaries. 

SIMULATION - The mass media is known for serving us a distorted imagery of our reality, also known as simulation. This representation of a false image is used to paint us an idea of an ideal life or standards which have no connection to our real life.
