Voldemort seeking to split his soul into 7 pieces

Voldemort looks for a way of becoming immortal
8 hours ago

Tom Riddle, more widely known as Voldemort, has asked his professor Slughorn if it is possible to split a person's soul into 7 different pieces, creating 7 Horcruxes just last night.

The reason why someone would want to do something like that is because by making a horcrux a person effectively becomes immortal due to the fact that that person cannot die unless the Horcrux is destroyed as well.

His question was met with great anger and Tom was quickly removed from the professor's study.

Making not one but seven Horcruxes means that the soul would wear thin but the chances of someone finding all seven pieces are low, making immortality almost a guarantee.

A boy uncovering immortality

Tom Riddle searching for a dark form of magic allowing immortality

Sun 22 Nov 2020
A young student at Hogwarts has, just a few hours ago, inquired from his professor a dark way of becoming immortal. The student's name is Tom Riddle.

While there are no ways of reaching immortality that would not make your skin crawl, this one is especially crude, requiring the murder of someone in order to split your own soul in two.

This method is called creating Horcruxes and is unknown to many and frowned on from those who do know about it.

Needless to say the professor was quite shocked by the boy's questions and the boy was told off while being kicked out of the office.
