Homework - WK5

The question of identity is a tricky one, especially when you need to define something so complex as a person in just a few terms. When it comes to me, I would identify myself as just a classic white male who is an atheist, a gamer, a lover of food, maybe a bit coo coo and an avid watcher of all things fiction. There are many layers of a personality which are defined by how you grew up, where you grew up, the people around you and many other factors which one could spend hours talking about. Because of this and the fact that we do not have the time, I decided to boil it down to just being coo coo.

When it comes to her work "Why are Americans so angry this election season" by Lilliana Mason she talks about the anger voters have stemming from a general disappointment in the country's current state. She goes on to talk about the fact that Americans are more closely identifying with the groups they categorize themselves in and that this is the reason they react with such ferocity to things they do not agree with and that are outside of their belief system. This taking sides is what not only she but many others are researching and have found that every group reacts with the same emotional power and same points leading to contradictions.
