Homework - WK 2

The author of this piece expresses her displeasure in the Anglo-American views of socialistic Yugoslovanian culture with critical eyes. She refers to a book called "Spomeniks" in which the author devalues the mentioned monuments by ignoring the political and historical references in which they were built and choosing only to focus on their artistic aspects.

The biggest problem that is found in this book is not only the naivete of the author herself but the spreading of it to its readers which is the most insulting part. The monuments are judged solely on the basis of their aesthetic and surface level factors. Their meaning and importance being thrown out the window.
