Today, documents containing sensitive information about a prisoner who has escaped in 1975 have shocked Maine officials. The penitentiary in question, Shawshank State, has yet to issue a statement.

According to the leaked files prisoner Andy Dufresne, initially imprisoned in 1948 for allegedly murdering his wife and lover, escaped on the morning of March 12th. Over the years, Andy was able to smuggle a small pickaxe and various other contraband which aided in his escape. For 20 years, he was digging a man-sized hole in his cell, through which he escaped. The hole went unnoticed due to a poster of Rita Hayworth that Dufresne used to conceal it.

Once Dufresne made it to the wall, he broke a sewer pipe using one of the rock he dug up and escaped through the canal. His prisoner's uniform was found 2 mile away from a nearby creek where he is assumed to have emerged from the canal. This event would explain warden Norton's unexpected resignation which coincides with the date this event and investigation took place.

Andy Dufresne, prisoner of Shawshank State Penitentiary, escaped after being imprisoned for 27 years. What is interesting is that this occurred in 1975 and has been kept a secret by the penitentiary all these years.

Warden Norton has been subject to criticism after documents have surfaced detailing this extraordinary event. Norton resigned from his position as warden in 1975, and understandably so after you read how he let this man escape.

Dufresne was able to procure a small pickaxe as contraband which he claimed to be using to shape rocks he found in the prison yard. However, Dufresne was actually digging an escape route in the wall of his cell, covering it only with a pin-up poster.

Furthermore, the warden's incompetence does not stop there. Not only did he not notice Dufresne digging his way to freedom for 20 some odd years, but he also allowed Dufresne to use his knowledge of banking to launder money for him which Dufresne actually used to set himself up with a fund after his inevitable escape.
